| There
are few more remote pubs than the Fox and Hounds
especially in Kent. Norcsalordie have played at the
Blue Ball in Triscombe so we know 'remote' when we see it
but the remarkable thing about the Fox and Hounds is that
it is within jigging distance of the Great
Metropolis. As they say on their website - The Fox
and Hounds is 10 minutes from junction 3 of the M25 - that
is 10 minutes if you know where you are going - the
opportunities for getting lost are many
Best
approached from the picture postcard village of Eynsford,
Romney Street is at the end of a long winding road that
makes its way up on to the North Downs from the Darent
Valley - and well worth the trip it is. With
footpaths leading right to the door this is a great pub to
walk to and - if you really must - to walk from
Monday
nights are folk club nights with a healthy band of
regulars including Pigs Ear - or parts thereof - and folk
superlegends Tone Deaf Leopard who alone make it worth the
trip - catch their 'Roadkill Cafe' if you can - with
actions that put the Macarena to shame. Just to
reassure you the Roadkill Cafe of the song is located near
Market Harborough so you are quite safe to eat here!
With a warm
welcome from the proprietors this is where you will find
Norcsalordie on a Monday night if they are in Martin's
Home county of Kent - regrettably this is not as often as
they would wish. If the band can get a full
evening's gig here we'll put it on the news page so keep
watching ... |
