July  2009
After our flurry of big band activity in Leicester for the CD launch (thanks to all those who helped and participated) July looks very quiet in comparison - but we are making good use of the time in preparation for the Broadstairs Folk Week click here. This annual week long festival is a gem and for the last two years the Norcsalordie duo has appeared to great acclaim

This year we have a surprise in store for our fans - a radical break with what has gone before. Suffice it to say that a lot of hard work is going into a comprehensive repositioning of the band and its music and that July might look quiet on the surface but underneath there is a hive of activity aimed at meeting the Broadstairs deadline

This is another exciting venture and another launch. By the way - there is a new video of us on YouTube playing one of our most popular songs The Drunken Sailor at the Aylesford Village Festival, a rapidly growing folk and fete style village festival

We look forward to meeting all our friends at Broadstairs and hope that you enjoy the new look and sound of Norcsalordie !

June  2009
Hello and welcome to the brand new Norcsalordie website - hope you like it. We appreciate any feedback, so if you find any broken links or you want to comment about the website or any content we'll be pleased to hear from you - e-mail us at info@norcsalordie.com

It’s been a busy few months for us. As well as working on the new site we’ve also found time to release our first studio album of original songs ‘Post to Pillar’ and play our first ever band shows.

Having played as a duo for the last four years, we were joined on stage by other musicians for the first time ever this month, performing as The Norcsalordie Band. With major festivals lined-up in Leicester we wanted audiences to enjoy the full album experience. To that end we recruited Simon Faulks (banjo, mandolin, bodran), Simon Dennis (drums) and Paddy Hodgkinson (bass) to join us for the Leicester Riverside Festival at Bede Park on Saturday June 6, The Big Session at Leicester DeMontfort Halls on Saturday 20 June and The Little Session at The Hind in Leicester on Sunday 21 June.

We also had a special guest join us for our Big Session and Little Session appearances, the delightful Lisa Banks. Based in St. Albans, Lisa sings on the track ‘Raven Headed Lass’ on ‘Post to Pillar’. It’s a favour we were able to return by appearing on Lisa’s own album ‘From Flora with Love’.

Speaking of albums we hope you’ll enjoy our first full studio release ‘Post to Pillar’. It features twelve songs, eleven of which are originals. Recorded in Leicester last summer with a full band (another first) we feel that ‘Post to Pillar’ is a real advance for us and hope you agree. So come to a show, buy an album and let us know what you think.

Looking further ahead, in August we will be once again appearing at Broadstairs Folk Week. We had a great time last year and look forward to seeing all our friends in Kent once again. Read more here
